Friday I interviewed Olympian bobsledder Edwin van Calker for Tyrezone, a sponsored magazine by Profile Tyrecentre. Our interviewee arrived almost an hour late, cause the doping committee rang his doorbell. Cup in hand. Of course he had just relieved himself, so it took 50 minutes and two litres of water to be free to leave his own house. Quite a sacrifice to make for your profession.
Bobsledding in the Netherlands is a sport where a team still has to do a lot of the work by themselves. So they need to be good sportsmen, businessmen and managers at the same time. And considering the success van Calker’s team has had, it seems like Edwin’s excelling in all of these different roles.
