Tomorrow I’ll be hosting another night for Floss. Interviewing artists and scientists who talk about their fascinations. The theme for tomorrow night: tradition. And there will be food as well. Unfortunately you’re too late if you want to join us, but as a consolation I’ll tell you how nice it was afterwards, okay?

It is hard to explain in English what ‘Fout’ means. It translates into wrong, incorrect, mistaken, erroneous and wrongful and even all of these words combined can’t really explain what ‘fout’ feels like for a Dutch person. Yesterday evening we explored the subject during the Floss Fout evening. With some fantastic guests including Professor Klaas van Berkel who told us about Galileo and the mistakes he made, Lieselot and Tim from Onestoneaday fixing us up with a 20 minute videopastiche of YouTube’s “greatest”. The unimitable Hans van de Sande telling us how to react to someone telling he likes putting his thumb up his ass and music by Earth Control. It was a memorable evening.

The 15th of july I will be hosting Floss Fout at the Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden. For a feable €7,50 (or €5 if you’re a student) you will be enjoying an evening of personal fascinations from the world of art, culture and science. We’re kicking off at 20:00. Hope to see you there.

Last friday I presented Floss : Lijf (body). An evening with guests from the world of science and arts. We saw amongst other things Frederiek Bosch’s skin rash stockings, Brigitte Coremans’ magnificent cycle clocks and a wonderful collection of old school underwear. .

Next week I’ll be hosting another Floss evening filled with guests from the arts, science and business world that will talk about ‘play’. For €7,50 you’ll be entertained for the entire evening at the Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden. More info can be found at the Floss website.

Last saturday I presented Floss:orde, an evening consisting of presentations and interviews with artists and entrepreneurs about order. It was a tough cookie this time, but with plenty of highlights and good response.

To finish off a week in which I had to find a replacement for a €200’000 car, I hosted a concepting event at the Academie voor Popcultuur and had two full day filmshoots, I presented Floss ‘tijd’ yesterday evening in Leeuwarden. The event took place in the intriguing Blokhuispoort, which used to be a prison. Theme of the evening was ‘time’ and guests included an artist making photographs with a scanner in a cardboard box, dr. Patrick van der Duin a scientist studying the future and two LARP enthusiasts who were outfitted in medieval style. It was both interesting, endearing and great to be part of. So thanks VHDG.
